For some time, there has been talk about the need or not of founding an Islamic Party in Italy, to give a point of reference to Muslims residing in Italy, who did not recognise themselves in the values of traditional parties, and to have above all political and institutional representation of the local Muslim community at the institutions. This is the goal of the movement called “MIID”, which is the acronym of the Italian Islamic Movement, founded in Rome, precisely on April 8 this year. The movement is made up of Italians and foreigners, of Muslim faith, but not only, as it is proposed as an inclusive movement and able to involve excellencies of high religions as long as they are in harmony with the moral values of Islam and the Italian Constitution.
Italy has finally seen the birth of the Islamic Party
