A fitna (fracture) that torments Muslim community in Italy
Since a little while, especially on social networks, pages and profiles regarding Islam gave rise to a strong discussion in particular between Sufis and Salafis. Sometimes words and adjectives have been used that almost reached deviation, and often accusations have been made by both sides quoting diverse sources.
One of the biggest disagreements in Italy regards the use of musical instruments since a large part of Salafis and converted Italian women, very active on social networks and that intend to follow salafiyya (reverting to a pure Islam, focused on the first years after the Prophet’s death) oppose Sufis (or tasāwwuf, the mystic movement that chooses to follow tarīqa to reach God).
